CIPTUG Online Privacy Statement

The purpose of this privacy statement is to establish CIPTUG’s commitment to privacy for users and visitors to the CIPTUG website. This policy describes what information is collected, when it is collected and how it is used.

Information collected

Non Personal
In order to measure the effectiveness of the website as well as for future enhancement planning, the following non personal information may automatically be collected: IP address, referring site, host name, domain server and browser used.

Personal
Personal information is collected each time a user registers for a webinar, seminar or for the Annual Conference as well as when he applies for membership. This information can include: name, address, company name and address, email address, phone number(s), emergency contact name & phone number, job functions, vertical market information, Log on Ids, Passwords and Credit Card information.

Information Security

All efforts are made to insure the security of this information by utilizing secure data facilities and requiring all service providers to do the same. Credit card information is collected by a secured payment gateway.

When the information is collected

Every time a user visits the site or a member signs up to participate in any of the above named functions, information is collected.

How The information is used

This information is used to communicate with members regarding the event they have signed up for, updating the Membership Database and for various communications such as announcing new seminars and webinars, chapter information, newsletters and Annual Conference updates. Credit card information is only used for billing and/or refund purposes. Log-ons and passwords are collected and stored as a service to the Membership. Passwords cannot be viewed, only changed.

Information sharing

Access to the Membership Directory is available to End User Members. Vendors sponsoring webinars can be provided with participants’ names and company names as a requirement of the vendor’s voice and web Access Bridge. Vendors are required to agree not to use or share this information for purposes other than the webinar they are hosting unless given direct permission by the participant. Cisco has agreed to use the list only for pre-approved projects and for no other purposes.

Any fulfillment agencies provided with our members’ names email and/or U S Mail addresses in order to send out mailings on CIPTUG’s behalf are required to use this information only for specific, predetermined contracted mailings and can not share this information with anyone else.

Opting Out

A member or non-member Chapter member can opt out at anytime by indicating appropriately on the registration form submitted or utilizing the unsubscribe or opt-out feature on any communication sent to them.

Responsibility for third party sites/links

There are links provided on the CIPTUG website to third parties over which it has no control. CIPTUG is not responsible for the privacy policies and practices of other websites to which a member or visitor may choose to link from CIPTUG’s site. It is the responsibility of the visitor or member to review each site’s privacy policy and terms and conditions of use.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

Changes to this Policy will be posted to the website as soon as they are approved. Members and visitors alike should review them periodically.

Information Updating

Members may update their own information in the Membership Database.Anyone experiencing difficulty with this should contact: membership@ciptug.org
